1 – 2015 is the year that I finally get in shape!
2015 is the year is it? What happened in 2014, 2013, 2012…. you beginning to see a pattern here you are not going to achieve the outcome you want by bashing your head against the same old brick wall you keep failing at. Shooting yourself in the face isn’t something you get better at surviving with practice neither is flipping the switch on your whole life style instantaneously. Maybe try an achievable quantifiable goal in 2015, maybe 2015 is the year that you join the local squash club maybe the consistent exercise might help you get in shape…
2 – 2015 is the year I will finally put 100000kg on my total.
Look at your weights logs for the past 5 years, now look at the rate or lack of progress, is it realistic to think that all of a sudden you are going to buck the trend of a decade and finally put 25% on all of your lifts by trying a new programme? In 2015 try and aim for consistent small progress and I guarantee in 2016 you will be looking at your old training logs wondering why you used to train like a retard.
3 – 2015 is the year that I finally find the love of my life.
If there is one thing I am certain of is that human relationships can’t be forced or manufactured, your not going to meet the guy or gal of your dreams by getting lean or getting a better job, crazy as it might sound you might be better off putting yourself out there and talking to people in an open and honest manner. You know all of that open and honest interaction with new people might actually lead to you meeting someone of the opposite sex you actually connect with, god knows you might even like each other. In 2015 maybe you should join a drama club and talk to your fellow patrons.
4 – 2015 is the year I get the job I always wanted.
The job you want isn’t going to jump out and bite you in the ass while your walking home from your shift at McDonalds. You need to identify what it is you want to do, where it is you want to work and do everything you can to get yourself in the face of the employers you want. Jobs aren’t given out to people fairly via and interview process in the real world it’s not how it works. Go and work for free for the people you want to work for and do a fucking good job, eventually with perseverance I guarantee you will find success, it might not be at the first, second, third gig but eventually with enough time and patience you will get what you want.
5 – 2015 is the year I read a book a week.
How many books did you read in 2014? (I read 20 when I set out with the aim of 52) If you read 2 then the likelyhood of you reading 2600% more books looks a bit of a lofty goal I would suggest. There is one thing for certain reading books is maybe the second most important thing you can do for yourself as a person outside of having frank and open relationships with good people. In 2015 maybe you should read more books than last year.
